All of this blogging stuff is so new to me. I need to learn how to post pics and stuff. I promise to get better. We had a long week in the Hartman house. We spent three days in Orlando at Sea World and Universal and Islands of Adventure. Yes, I can go to Orlando and not go to Disney. Sea World had some great shows and we had to go two days to see them all. The weather was great and we had a blast. I will post some pics as soon as I load them on my laptop and then figure out out to post them on the blog. Nobody hold thier breath, I am not that technologically advanced. Hope to see all soon. Any news on St. Patty's day????? Loved to all, Deb

Spring Is Nearly Here!
Sunny, warming weather put us all in a Springtime mood. It brought out a cleaning spee at our house and a surprise visit from the Hayeses (Stephen & Mellisa). We all trouped down to the Leavell's to meet their new puppy, Doogan. He is cute as a, well, puppy.
In small but amusing family news:
Patrick fouled out during his final basketball game. Erin was called for a technical in her last match. I guess this shows where our family excels.
Melissa confessed that she was named for a character in the Little House on the Prairie books.
Mellisa's sister Christy was showing samples of her photos (including pictures of Katie) to a client and she was asked if Katie was available to model for a catalogue shoot. Proud parents should just remember how this worked out for Lindsey and Brittney.
Christy's (Hayes) post about Katie's learning progress reminded me of the three of us at Christmas Eve church services. Following a beautiful piano piece played by a nine year old girl, not to be outdone, Christy turned to me and said "Katie knows her animal sounds".
No word on Aric's progress on winning the trip to Washington in the school poster contest. He, Richard and Debbie are headed to Disney next week.
Gina managed to con (I mean encourage) five of her friends to paint her living and dinning rooms this weekend. Wow, I wished I has friends like that.
Steve & Mellisa invited 15 people to a Lost" party recently. All of this in 300 square feet. Will wonders never cease!
Well, so much for the news from Lake Wobegone...
Milt
PS - Steve has taught Judy how to blog so watch out!

Pictures for Stephen
Hey Stephen,
Here are just a few of the MANY pictures that were taken when my cousin was here. Katie is 6 months older than Gavin, and we were amazed to watch her with him. It was weird to see her as the big kid.
This week in Katie news: potty training (per her insistance) continues, and we're also making progress with the alphabet. As of bedtime tonight, she recognized B, E, T, and O. Yea! She's so not a baby anymore. I hate to sound cliche, but it really does fly by.
Love,
Christy

Super Bowl Sunday
Debbie and Gina, I'm so glad to "see" you on the blog!
I'm sitting here watching the game (the commercials) with Rob, and my cousin and his wife. They came to visit this weekend from North Carolina. They have a one-year-old son named Gavin. He is adorable. Katie calls him "bebe boi". She seems to enjoy having another toddler in the house. I think she'll enjoy having a sibling.
Katie officially knows her colors now (red, yellow, blue, orange, green, pink, purple), and she's been showing off all weekend, to keep our attention. She's a little jealous of Gavin, when we hold him, but otherwise, she likes him, and they play well together.
We're working on the alphabet now. After she learns the song, we'll do one letter a week. She already knows "B", and "T" thanks to Aric. You know those Sesame Street ABC books you gave us, Aric? We read those before naps and bedtime, and she loves them. Of course, she calls every single letter "B" or "T", but it's a start. She started learning to count by counting steps, but now she's obsessed with the Winnie the Pooh counting DVD from Aric, and her counting is getting better every day. She knows "1,2, 3, ...5,...6............Yea!!!"
Taylor, congratulations on your new gig!
Abigail, congratulations on your new laptop!
Milt, thanks for the recipe. I'll probably try it this week.
I love you guys,
Christy
